A Child’s Play video game has been announced today by Universal. It will be developed by TikGames and will be a downloadable title for PC and consoles.
Your dreams of playing a video game as a serial killer trapped inside a child’s doll are about to come true. TikGames (Domino Master) and Universal announced today that the first officially licensed game based on the Child’s Play (Chucky) movie franchise is now in development.
Chucky is described as a “stealth-action romp” that will allow gamers to experience the killer doll’s gory exploits first-hand.
“We’re proud to be able to bring a fan-favorite movie character, such as Chucky, to gaming platforms,” Alex Tikhman, TikGames co-founder, said in a statement. “Fans have been asking for a Chucky game for years and, soon, gamers around the world will be able to enjoy highly-entertaining, interactive, downright gory experiences with this brand.”
The studio says it is sticking to the true nature of the film series, which made its debut in 1988 with Child’s Play and went on to spawn four sequels. What’s that mean for the game? TikGames said Chucky will use his “full repertoire of stealth and guile to dispatch victims in a multitude of distinctive methods.”
Chucky is being developed as a downloadable title for PCs and consoles. The game is scheduled for release sometime this fall.
